Justin Cooper – Owner, VP of Production

Justin founded Mt Sterling Custom Homes, Inc. in 1997 and the next year received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and his Associates in Accounting from Utah State University. In 2004 he joined forces with Jeff Jackson to provide custom homes for the residents of Cache Valley that met with the highest quality standards. Justin is also a licensed real estate agent in Utah and Idaho. He has served as vice president, president, board member and as an executive committee member with the Cache Valley Home Builders Association. He has also served in several board positions with the Utah Home Builders Association. Justin currently resides in Wellsville, Utah with his wife Angela and their four sons Cade, Nash, Conner and Davis.

Jeff Jackson – Owner, VP of Sales

Jeff began work in the construction industry in high school. After graduation and a two year service mission, he founded Jeff Jackson Construction, Inc. in 1997. Jeff received his Bachelor’s degree in construction management along with a minor in Business Management from Brigham Young University in 2000. In 2004 Jeff joined forces and construction experience with Justin Cooper to build custom homes of the highest quality in Cache Valley. Jeff has served as president and vice president of the Cache Valley Home Builders Association and is a licensed real estate agent in both Utah and Idaho.  Jeff is building a new home in Lewiston, Utah where he will live with his wife Audrey and their children Emma, Porter and Cole.

Steve Hansen – CFO, General Manager

Steve received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Utah State University in 1989 and also obtained a Master’s Degree in Accounting from USU in 1990. He has been a licensed CPA and Certified Management Accountant since 1994. His career has included work as Assistant Controller and Controller for Digitran Systems as well as Vice President of Finance and then CFO for Spillman Technologies. Steve currently resides in Providence, Utah with his wife Sandy and their children Stephanie and Brandon.

Staff

John grew up in Providence, Utah, attending local schools and then serving a two year LDS mission in Japan.  John attended Utah State University majoring in Business Administration.  After working in Sales with UCS and then Davis Auto Group, John, his father, and brother opened a successful computer hardware and networking school in Riverside, California.  John and his wife, Natalie, decided that after living in California for 5 years they wanted to move back to Cache Valley to raise their children. John currently resides in Wellsville, Utah with his wife Natalie and their children Taylor and Dylan.

Erin learned the financial aspects of business while growing up in the mechanical contracting industry; this has been a great benefit in working with Mt Sterling and Visionary Homes. Not only does she currently have the pleasure of working with our qualified Sub Contractors, she also loves to assist our fabulous home owners fulfill the dream owning a quality built home. Her greatest pleasures in life are her wonderful husband, two incredible children, great friends, traveling, golfing and cabinet making.

Elise grew up in Hyrum and graduated from Mt. Crest High School. She worked at several trucking companies in Cache Valley and then focused her attention to the construction industry.  Elise has been employed at Mt Sterling for the last 2 ½ years and enjoys working with the wonderful homeowners and subcontractors.  She handles the warranty program and is Jeff’s Administrative Assistant.  In her spare time she enjoys scrap booking, cleaning, camping and four-wheeling.  Elise lives in Hyrum with her new husband, Clay and their children, Wesley, Conner and Courtney.

Jason grew up in Star Valley Wyoming and graduated from Star Valley High School.  He grew up in a construction environment and learned the trade at an early age.  After high school he moved to Logan and worked for various construction companies before coming to Mt Sterling where he has been for nearly 3 years.  Jason also served an LDS mission in the Dominican Republic.  He is currently enrolled at Utah State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree.  He is married with one daughter, and in his leisure time he fully enjoys the outdoors with his family.

Zane is a proud native of Cache Valley. Growing up in this wonderful agrarian valley has kept his heart rate down and instilled in him a love for the mountains and everything outdoors. He recently earned a BA in English Literary Studies from Utah State and plans to pursue a Masters in Architecture when his wife completes her studies. He has four years residential construction experience and four months commercial building experience. He spent two years living in Norway and worked in commercial fishing in Alaska. He enjoys his job as Drafter at Mt Sterling because it provides a great opportunity for him to be creative and prepare for his career in Architecture. 

Jennette is originally from California where she attended local schools.  She worked as a senior buyer for a major department store, managed a CPA office and most recently co-owned a family construction company.  She has two children.  Jennette enjoys landscape design and outdoor activities including; camping, fishing and shooting.

Lindsey was born and raised in Omaha Nebraska. She moved to Cache Valley in January 2007 and married her wonderful husband the following May. Lindsey recently graduated from USU with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She currently lives in Logan and enjoys cooking, sewing and watching college football.

Stacie is originally from Pleasant View, UT where she graduated from Weber High School. She moved to Cache Valley to further her education at Utah State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics/Statistics Education in May 2008. Teaching appealed to her because she loves being in a social environment where she can learn and grow from those around her. She currently lives in North Logan with her husband who is employed at Juniper Systems as IT manager. A few of her joys in life are playing the piano, quilting, drawing, traveling with her husband, and spending time with family.
